Today I visited Barb in Australia, and had gone across the pond to visit Paul several days ago, and I am using idea's from both blogs. Paul has been making wonderful tags using gauze for a softening touch, and Barb is using up ribbon scraps. I am so impressed with what she has done!

The ribbon I put on the bottom of the small tag is from Hobby Lobby, a gift from Lillian! The CS is Wild Wasabi from SU, the flowered paper and the ones on top of it are from Websters Pages. The sprakling brad is from my stash. The tag with the girl is something I have had in my stash for years.

ribbon scraps

I visited across the pond this week and found on Paul's blog (Artsiders) the use of gauze from the medicine cabinet, so decided I must do that! haha Today I went to Australia, I believe it was and visited Barb and saw the wonderful things she is doing with ribbon scraps. I just so happen to have 2 large containers of ribbon scraps, so here we go! haha

The CS is SU, the Seeds Catalogue is from K&Company, the ribbon unknown., I may add a few buttons or flowers on the ribbon, not sure yet.

Maya's 1st B.D. card

I could not find the stamps I wanted for Maya's 1st birthday card, so ended up using CS from my stash. Last year I had bought a fuzzy pink ribbon made of Teddy Bears, so decided I had to use that in some way, also.

The Hippo looks embossed and all glittery , so I cut that section out of my CS, and taped and glued it to the bottom layer, which has the white deeply embossed. The little flower on the top right is from the stash. One of the Teddy bears broke off, so I thought, wow, she just fits on the hippo's back! haha So glued her on, hanging onto the ear. I cut another teddy off the ribbon and glued it to the back of the card where I will sign and date it.

The inside I stamped "Little Princess" and Happy Birthday with cakes and candles and presents. The base CS is pink, from SU, so in order to color the candles, etc I used prismacolor pencils.

One thing about having mild strokes is everyday when I look at my stash I actually feel it is all brand new, never seen it before! haha That makes using it twice the fun. Maya is Great Grandbaby #8. I will put a Post It note inside and remind her not to eat the flowers or bears! haha

EArly Spring!

Today I had to have sunny colors and daisies! I am glad I live in an area that normally has plenty of sunshine. I was looking at all the winter colors of CS, etc I have in my huge paper stash, and had to go for bright, instead!

The CS I used is PrintWorks Big Top Yellow Watercolr Stripes. The reverse is the small checks. The saying and the daisies are both from TAC, and as so many of my treasures, have remained "unused" for quite some time!

I colored mainly with Tombo & Dove blender, then found some Mica Gloss I had left in an watercolor 6 tub palette. Being in plastic, they were still damp, so used some of the gloss to finish off. The black is Callography pen, and the rhinestones are some of my stash! I feel I should have done something to put a layer between the yellows, but its a little late at this point. Are we ever 100% happy with our efforts?

C & S card

I love the clean and simple style of cards, and had never used this TAC stamp before. I stamped with SU ink, then colored small area's of the gown with prismacolor. Rounded the corners and sponged with a light pink on the white, so it would not look stark. I used the Scorepal and made 2 lines on the left, & in spite of how it looks, the rhinestones are straight, & between the lines.

Inside I placed a white pc os CS & used a Martha Stewart punch. Nothing looks as I had planned, but you know how that goes. The stamps inside are also TAC, one is a ladies face in a big hat, and the other is "I like your style". It is a C& S card even though it took all day! haha The strip of rhinestones is from Studio 18 Mary Englebreit accents.

Birthday Mad Hatter

This is another of my favorite images from Mad Hatter series I downloaded last year.

This lady is going to a Birthday Girl, and is going to be a day or two late, so have to tell her not to peek!

The black around the image is a Calligraphy pen using a ruler to made the image pop and to give the illusion on another layer of CS. The green CS is SU, the punched white is from a friend, and I felt was what this layout really needed, The Rhinestones from my stash.

Here, Kitty, Kitty!

The little blue bird seems to be taunting this kitty.

The kitty was colored with Prismacolor pencils, and blended with baby oil. I am unsure who made the image. THe little blue bird and paper were sent to me by my friend Lillian. The punched colored CS was done for me by my friend Karen. I ran a calligraphy pen around the image using a ruler, to make it appear to have another layer of CS under it.

This went to Lillian as a surprise. Anything that gets to the mailbox is a surprise, anymore! haha She happens to love Kitty cards.

Using up scraps!

I found a partial package of color coded things that had been given to me, to make a card with. I used a confetti CS, which I wish I had upgraded, but thats what it is. Anyway, the fabric patch on the upper right has imbedded rhinestones, and is just a mesh. The paper scrap on the left is 2 shades of gray.

I used an EK edge punch, and some decorative Creative Charms, to dress it all up. They are like tiny mother of pearl buttons with a small pearl in the middle of each. It may not travel well! haha

Other than the confetti CS, I am very happy with the card. I seldom use fabric, but now I think I will try it more often. I am trying to use up scraps.

Mad Hatters

I love this image. I downloaded some Mad Hatters last year from geckogalz.com and have no idea what I had planned to do with them. Today while trying to decide what to do, I ran across them and fell in love with this image.

I have not decided on the inside saying yet. The black is something I embossed from my friend Barbies folders. It is an Asian image, but not sure who made it. Everything else is from my stash, and not sure who the CS is from.

I hope to do other Mad Hatters soon, and use up some of my stash! It is hard to just keep on trying to use it up, but someone has to do it! haha

Old Lighthouse

This is an old image from Stamp Cabana. I bought it at the first stamp show I attended, which was a huge one, about 20 years ago.

I love lighthouses and the rugged rocks look so much like our N. Calif. coastline.

I started with chalks, and thought I liked it, so sprayed it with a workable fixative, and went to put it together and realized it was too pale. I see I should have redone the water at the bottom of the card. Anyway, I grabbed my Prismacolor pencils and gave it a little more color.

Poppy Mosaic

This was a challenge to complete! I bought the stamp, black glossy CS and various Mica Gloss Metallic Effects Ink from Judi Kins at the last convention I attended. Of course, put everything in a drawer and did nothing with it for about 9 months.

Meanwhile, there is a step I must have forgotten! haha I stamped & embossed image, then painted the flowers with the various inks I had gotten. That was Saturday morning. So this afternoon I decided to assemble the card, and the ink was not dry! I tried to just dry it with the heat gun, but ended up pouring on some Hologram powder, and redried.

I like the card, but in my mind it was supposed to be as pretty as the demo cards at the JudiKins booth! haha Getting the light right for the picture was hard, either too dark, or like this, a little shiny in spots!

I hope you like my less than perfect image!

My oldest grandchild

This picture was taken in Dec. 2011. My grandson Doug is on the right, and looking a little tired. He had a long drive up from the Bay Area to the anniversary party for his other grandparents. He lives near us, but works in the Bay Area. His wife works in the area, and is such a sweetie.

His cousin from N. Carolina is on the left. Doug is the oldest, and in his spare time is a professional fisherman. It was so good to have all the kids together.

Maya, Kim and Chloe 1/1/12

I was able to spend New New Years day with part of my family, and had a great time. The kids BBQ's, and it was shirt sleeve weather. As with all of you, my family is a very important part of my life, and when I am able to travel to be with them it makes for a special day.

Kim is an RN, and her husband is a fireman, so it was a treat that they both had the same weekend day off! We also went over and visited her sister Heather. I was ready for bed when I got back to town! haha

Maya was 11 months old the day after this was taken. She does not walk, she Runs! She is not one to sit back and watch life go by, she is a busy participant!

Like me, Chloe is getting a little long in the tooth.

This was taken on Jan 1st. These are my 2 oldest granddaughters, the ones that are the mothers of my 8 great grandkids. Ouch, looking a little pale there, but at least I am on my feet! haha I will be 75 in a few days, so I am always happy to be on my feet! haha

Voice of the Sea

I made this card for a very dear friend that has been ill for a long time. I guess this is my Thanksgiving card to him! haha I did not get out any of my Turkey Day stamps, figuring I would gain weight just looking at them!

The stamps are Impression Obsession. and my first time to use them. I stamped with Memento, and the saying with SU Ballet Blue.

Most of the coloring was done with Prismacolor pencils, I did a bit with Pebbles chalk and used some baby oil to blend in spots.

The bottom corner had the big blob of ink (ouch) so I ended up using my EK corner rounder which I do not know how to use properly! ....

Maya & Spud

This picture shows Spud willing to share his favorite chewy with Maya. She was down to visit for the day. Since then she has popped a couple of teeth and would really enjoy his chewy! lol

She now walks hanging onto things, and can grab things faster than anyone I have ever seen! She is our little doll.

Singing bird

This is the first card I have really stressed over and tried to do a special job on since I have been having the little strokes. It is so hard to try to "remember" how to do things, and what goes together. My coloring shows a little off in the picture. The CS is actually SU Baroque Burgandy The stamps are a gift from my daughter Sue, and are both Magenta. I did a smearing of several colors of Brilliance Ink, then stamped over it.

I am quite exhausted, believe it or not! It is like learning to do things all over again.

I hope you enjoy, and I am going to get on a roll. Life is too short to not eat chocolate and make cards! haha

Surprise !!

I wanted to use up some of the Grab Bag papers that I bought in Sacramento in April, so pulled out what looked like 2 designed to work together. I have no idea the companies any of this came from. The flower was in a box of goodies from my friend Lillian. I aged the tag and DP using Rangers Adriondack dye ink.

Styles change so much! Almost 20 years ago when I first started stamping, if a paper was not crisp and clean on the edges it was trashed! haha NOW, we scratch it, smear ink on it, rough up the edges, wrinkle it, and in some cases staple it all on! I am not into staples yet, but sure smear and rip and age the poor cards! Until I became a fan of T!m Holtz, I did not know that I needed a sanding block and sand paper, so I could further torture the poor cards! Then if that does not suit me, I have been known to hand draw squiggle borders!

A Thank You note.

I bought these DPs recently in a grab bag. I cut the birds down to fit, and found a pink bird brad that was about right, so used that to bring attention to the Just A Note. The CS is from SU, and the rest is unknown. Inside I stamped Thank You for a friend that has given me a lot of "stamping stuff" lately! You know us stampers, we can never have too much STUFF! lol

Be the change

This saying is another of my favorite ones. The stamps are from Impression Obsession, the coloring was done with Prismacolor pencils, the DP is some I got in a box last week from my sweet stamping friend Lillian, and the blue CS is SU. The blue fibers and rhinestones are from my stash.

It does not show up, but I did use blue Stickles on the wings and water and some green distress Stickles on part of the leaves.

My new wheels

When I sold my truck in April, Iwas not expecting to replace it with this set of wheels!

These 4 wheels arrived yesterday in spite of all Spud and Scruffy could do to stop them from coming in the house. It is never dull here, but I really think I liked the frogs in the toilet, and on my bedroom telephone (ahhhhhhh, the joys of country living!) better than this!

Long story short, I had a small stroke ? (is it ever small?) last week, and in spite off all the dogs could do to stop them, the paramedics hauled me off to the hospital. I have been having other strokes, evidently, and was not aware of it.

Anyway, I am going to do more stamping than before, God willing. I have a stamp that says "So many stamps, so little time:. I feel I have a lot of time, however, I also have a lot of stamps! lol

Maya's new "wheels"

Maya and Spud are enjoying her new ride. He wants to sit in her lap and play with the new toys on the ride! Her Grandma Sue felt the baby was deprived, so she decided to add to the "Things" Maya owns! You should see her wardrobe! Now, that I am jealous of! lol

This card was made for a BFF's husband that has been ill for ages. He is also a stamper, and I think will get a kick out of this. The bird, man key handle, and hat and Time are Steampunk stamps from Oxford Impressions. The upper right clock face is from Heidi Swapp, the clock near the mans face is a sticker from NRNdesign by Jill Meyer.

I have not been brave enough to do a card with these before, but since I am using up paper scraps, thought it was a good time to try. BG CS is T!m Holtz

This card is using up scraps, also. I will never EVER get to the bottom of the pile! I am trying, though!

The CS is a new one for me from SU, called Poppy Parade. The thinking of you is from TAC, the girl I forget who she is from, and the happy little bird is from my stash. I colored the image with Prismacolor pencils, which are probably my favorite way to color. Unless it is something else I am using that day! lol

Birthday card

I made this card a few days ago, and really love it. The photo does not do the colors justice, as they look faded out in the picture, however they are very brilliant.

The image is a new stamp from Hero Arts, and I really love it. Before adhering it to the CS I used a ruler and one of my black ITOYA Calligraphy pens to make it look like a black layered CS. The Rhinestones are from my friend Lillian/ The ribbon from my stash, and the CS is a New to me color from SU, Forest Foliage that someone gave me. I believe it was discontinued about 6 years ago!

I smeared a little ash rose colored ink around the edges and colored with my Prismacolor pencils. I used Stickles in spots to highlight the flowers.

Little Miss Happy

This is little dollbaby Maya. She is happy to have her new swim suit, but really does not want to swim in it. She is happier skinny dipping. She is now 5 months old, and is such a happy little girl, and we all just adore her.

Her Aunt Heather & Uncle Tim have a lovely huge pool at thier home, and they bought Maya a shaded baby float so she could enjoy the pool. She just loves it!

Been gone awhile!!

I have had some health problems that sorta kicked my "Franny", but I am on a tear and will do some kicking myself! lol

I loved this paper from Websters Pages so much, I decided to use a portion of a Post Card to make my card. I will stamp inside. The days of the week are too dim to show, but are listed to the right of My Favorite Days!

The CS is from SU, the blue metalic from my stash, the cherries and red rhinestone are from the Studio 18, Mary Engelbreit collection.

I hope you enjoy, and I am hoping to get on a roll, next week after the 4th. I am going to the Northern CA coast & getting away from the heat. Expecting 108 here Saturday, so the coast sounds pretty good! lol

Great Grandbaby #8

Maya will be 5 months old in a few days. This picture shows her trying to turn from her back to her tummy. The day after this was taken, she did it. She already knew how to turn the other way. She will be rolling all over the house, checking things out soon!

The CS on this is actually from a kit someone gave me to make envelopes. I felt the rough texture was much better for a card. The DP is from my stash, and the flower is from a little store in a nearby town.

I am thinking this might work for an anniversary, or possibly a womans birthday? Might even be a Get Well card. Heck, I don't know what it is, other than scraps! lol

Using scraps and supplies

I am afraid in spite of all my efforts I have not put a dent in my scrap box! I used a metalic mesh that I have had for years, and a button from a friend, the Seeds Catalog and the birds are from K&Co, and when they are used up, I will head to town for more! lol The CS is Old Olive from SU. I used an old beat up corner rounder I have had for years, and think I best sharpen the poor thing!

On a scrap mission!!

It looks like I will have a little playtime this weekend, so I am going to try to use up some of my scraps. The one shown here is a piece of wallpaper that I fell in love with. I tore off a section I thought would go well with the card color. The Butterflies are from K&Co, I am pretty sure. I tried to locate the package on my piled high stamping spot, to no avail! haha

Graduation Card

This card was made today for Savannah, one of my great granddaughters. She is graduating tonight from the 8th grade. I had fun making this one.

The yellow CS from my stash, the multicolored CS is from Posh. I love the bright colors and think she will like this. The hats off and hats are from my stash & the rhinestones were sent to me from Lillian. They are Studio 18. She also sent the Daisy, I think. Love the color contrast.

I am hoping that my Mojo is going to return soon!

Another get well for Heather

Since I have been a month without blogging, and a big part of that with no computer or telephone, I am not sure if I am coming or going. COMING, I hope! lol No way to say how glad I am to be back online! My phone jacks were corroded and all had to be replaced, and some of the phone line, also.

I found this card on my not so neat stamping table, and do not recall posting it before. I "think" it is from Tim Holtz paper, but not positive. The burlap and crimped paper are from my stock.

Poor Henry has had it!

I bought this stamp in Sacramento at the stamp show last month, it is from Sparkle and Sprinkle? Maybe not in that order. Anyway, his name is Henry.

A couple of weeks ago I sold my pickup, and decided Henry would be the right thing to put on the Motor Vehicles envelope, when I sent the info to them! lol Thats about how the poor pickup was! lol I love this stamp, and will mainly use if for get well cards. I hope a few people got a chuckle out of it in the mail.

The Bamboo That Bends

I am trying again to post this card. The saying is one of my favorites of all the stamps I have. It and the bamboo are stamped on a scrap CS that was "smeared" with Brilliance colors, then layered onto 2 colors of glittery paper. It is prettier than it looks to be.

This was made for a dear stamping sister with serious health problems in one of my online groups. I made a similar one for Dana in KY earlier, and hers was posted on a light green BG CS.

Boots were made for stamping

A few months ago my stamping friend Lillian sent me some new stamps, and this darling boot was amond them. It is from a TAC set, and I just love it. The coloring was Prismacolor pencils and shaded with various inks (Ranger) on the edges. The flowers were highlighted with Stickles.

I had serious blog problems a month ago, so I am hoping the picture comes thru this time.

Get Well for Heather

My lovely granddaughter Heather is the mother of 6 of my 8 great grandkids. She had major surgery last week, and will be down (cannot even lift her laptop) for at least 1 month. I thought she would enjoy the kitty here.

I used 3 colors of gray, 3 colors of blue and 2 of brown, I think plus some more prismacolor pencils for the ground. The CS and DP are all from my scrap pile. See how good I am? I am using them up fast as I can! haha

Maya's First Modeling Job!

This card is for a girlfriend and her husband. The white CS base card and embossed are from my stash. The embossing was done with a Cuddlebug Provo Craft. The "Blue Jeweled" flowers are Jolee's boutique, EK Success. I used Encore Blue to smudge the edges a bit.

I really enjoy the Clean and Simple lines of this card. Inside is only the greeting. (No huge checks!) haha

I'm A Princess

This card was made for another teenage great granddaughter, that is pretty much Girly, girly. She loves makeup and jewelry, and of course boyz! lol

I used Orange CS source unknown, stamped I'm a Princess in Pixie Pink "SU" ink, all over it. The layers Ms Froggie are on are from my scrap box, just used a favorite MS punch on the 3 layers. and across the bottom on the Basic Grey paper from my scraps. The flower was from my friend Lilllian, and the source is unknown, as are the pink rhinestones.

Ms Froggie was colored with Prismacolor pencils, and her Beauty Marks and eye shadow are highlighted with green Stickles. I used stardust Stickles on the umbrella, and spots of her bathing suit.

I think this teenager will enjoy her card, too!

You Rock, Girl!

This was made for one of my teenage great granddaughters. She is into sports, so did not want anything too girly, girly!

The sweet turtle is from my stash, the circle at the top was cut from a Thank YOu card, and You Rock stamped on it. The stamp is from the Dollar tree, I think.. The turtle, I do not remember source.

The ribbon across the bottom is KI Memories,Friendship Plaid, in Lime and chartreuse. The flower rhinestones were a gift from Lilllian, and are Hero Arts. I colored the turtle with Prismacolor pencils, and used a reddish brown Nesties die cut I found in my stash. I think she will enjoy the bright, bright green card! CS source unknown.

I used 3 of my Stickles to give the flower stems, flower center and toe nails on Ms Tur-Tel some Glam!

Koala Bear

This little doll just makes me want to hug him. The image is from Whipper Snapper. The saying is Stampendous, the CS SU and stash. The bird is a brad from my stash. I did a rather "not too great" job using the Spellbinder Nestie, but am working on it. I think the blue I used on edges of white was from Versa MArker.

The coloring is Prismacolor Pencils, Blue ink SU Ballet Blue. I used a green Stickles on the leaves.

I hope to have kicked my MOJO in the rear, and will be getting more work done over the weekend. I have plenty to do, just find it hard to settle down and do it.

I am getting help putting Maya's Birth Announcement on the blog. I think you will really love it. May take a day or two, as my helper is busy in a blog hop.

" Plant a sweet-forget-me-not". I really like this saying. The CS is SU, the green embossed CS is unknown. The ribbon was one of those things I decided to try, using just a regular punch. I will have to get a ribbon punch as this was very time consuming, and did not work as I wanted. The punch is EK Success, and a favorite, but not intended to be used as I used it.

Anyway, the white ribbon is from my stash, and the saying is a die cut from Susan Wingate, K&CO. I added a little extra Stickles to give the card a little glitz.

Seeds of Happiness

I think we are all looking forward to Spring this year! Planning the gardens, and hoping nice days will stay with us.

I have a stamp show coming up on April 9th and I find I have so much "STUFF" that I really need to find a way to use it quickly, or I can't justify buying more "STUFF". haha

So this card is all about using some of my stash. The CS is from the stash, as is the ribbon and the embossed CS at the bottom. The embossing was done with 3 differant Cuttlebug folders, the punch is SU, ribbon from a pile! haha The Seeds of Happiness is part of a Die-Cut set by K&Co, Susan Winget.

This morning I was visiting Mina's blog (Pink Puds) and her card for today showed an image over a section of the ribbon. It was a light bulb moment for me, as I had always been careful NOT to cover the ribbon. lol My card in no way is as nice as MIna's, but I had a good time making it!

Whooo Loves ya baby?

I made this for one of my great granddaughter's that is away at college. I had fun doing it, but the inside is not making me happy. I will send it anyway. ;-)

The paper is Indian Summer from Basic Grey. The ribbon I think is from the Basic Grey Infuse collection. the rhinestones from my stash, The little owl that is raised I do not remember where he came from. The owl on the right is from TAC, one of the Hostess sets, as is the saying. I highlighted the large owl's eyes and beak with my white Uni-Ball Signa pen. Used a couple of colors of Stickles glitter to make the owls pop a bit.

This was a fun card to do, but the saying, etc. did not photograph well. Lulu was fighting me for space to shoot, so rather than really make her mad, I did it this way! lol

A dear stamping friend in Michigan sent me 2 whole packages of stamps, stickers, and rhinestones, etc. related to baby so I can make lots of cards for the new Great Grandbaby Maya Elise. She really showered me with love!

THe off white confetti paper, and the blue rhinestones are also from my sweet friend! The Set is from TAC, and I colored with Prismacolor pencils, used silver Gelly Roll on the scissors, and used Uni-ball Signo white to bring out the white on the sewing machine. This is the best pen of this type I havc ever found.

The torso was stamped on a light blue paper, then cut out and touched up a bit with pencils. When I used a runner tape on the back to stick it on, it tore at the waist! Ouch! The little butterfly just fit, so used it at the waist! lol

The CS is SU and the DP is from my stash. The Rhinestones are Studio 18, and have 2 sizes of butterflies, and the one size of the round ones. Love this set!

Maya, her Daddy & Grandpa

This was taken Thursday night after baby Maya was home again from the hospital. Her DAddy is holding her, and the man to the left is my son in law, Mike. He is one of the Grandpa's.

If you look around her eyes, you will see that she is a typical California Gal, who has been wearing her shades! Little white streaks on her nose and around the eyes where the goggles were! Needless to say, we are all crazy about her.

Greatgrandma holding Maya 1st time

Maya spent Wednesday night back in the hospital, so Thursday I was able to go see her after she returned home. This was my first time to be able to hold her. She is still pretty bruised up from her journey into this world, but is very alert (Well, of course!) and very strong. And she looks just like her Daddy, including how all that hair grows!

We are just all so thankful that she is going to be a healthy baby, and not starting out in this crazy world with Diabetes.

Congratulations

This is a card for my granddaughter Kim and her husband Jeremy, for the birth of thier baby Maya, last week.

I used the same paper by Heidi Grace that I used to trim Maya's card, in the next 2 photo's down. The Congratulations is from my stash of UM's, the ink used is SU Pixie Pink. The flower was given to me last year at the stamp show in Sacramento by a lady in "A Stamp In The Hand" booth, that was showing how to make them. The little strip of baby red hearts and green dot rhinestones on the far right is from Glitterazzi. I used my favorite Stickles, Star Dust to add some punch to the saying, flower and leaf.

I think the kids will like the card. I will hand deliver it, and Maya's card.

Maya's First Card

I am hoping that this card will be the first one that Maya Elise gets. I will make one for the parents later, but wanted her Great Grandma Pat to be the first handmade card in her Baby book.

The CS is SU, the DP is Heidi Grace, the little ribbon horses on the top, flower and knit sweater trimed in satin, are unknown. The scrapbook store I got the sweater for does repackage some items to make them more affordable. The 4 baby pearls package is on my desk, never to be seen again! Sorry!

Embossed Thank You

I have not mastered the technique of coloring the inside of the Cuttlebug folder before you emboss, but this one turned out better than the last few I tried. As you can see, I used a red ink in folder.

the larger flowers are a few scrunched up die cuts from a paperback book. The 2 on top are from E.Line, Also Prima Marketing. Love them! I used T!m Holtz Distressed Fired Brick ink on all the flowers, and attached a small red brad. Not sure if I am done, may use a little glitter on the poor scrunched up things! haha

The contented cow and the saying are from TAC, colored with Prismacolor Pencils, the bottom barely shows but I "borrowed" an idea from Roxie, and used the Scor-Pal on each side of the saying. the punch is Martha Stewart, the flowers are from a package that says E. and is from Prima Marketing. I love these! They were a gift to me. ;-) the rhinestone brad in flowers is from my stash, as is the CS and DP. The 2 rhinestones at the bottom are from Darice.

This card turned out cute, but did not photograph well. Not exactly a pro with the camera!

New Baby Girl

My granddaughter Kim and her husband Jeremy are the proud parents of Maya Elise, born yesterday. I am glad I did not have buttons on, or I would have popped a few, as you can see. Very proud Great Grandma, the 8th time! What fun!

Maya, Kim, and all family members did a great job, and are so happy that she is healthy and will have a wonderful loving family to guide her to adulthood!

Poona's Cow Girl Nurses

One of my very first card swap pals is a nurse, AKA Poona, from Milwaukee. In 1997 she sent this postcard of her "Cow Girl Nurses" using stickers on the cows. On the address side, there are a few images, and one is a hamster on a hot water bottle. It is so cute. I just wanted to share something from a dear friend.

Poona loves her stickers, and won a contest from Mrs Grossmans back during that time period. Very talented artist!

I guess I am thinking nurses, as my granddaughter Kim is an RN also, and is the one having the baby this week! So exciting~ She will be great grandbaby # 8. They are all a joy.

My Blood Type is Coffee

The saying is hard to read on this card. It is what the title is. I had a great time doing this card. THe CS is from my stash, so unknown. THe cup and the saying are from TAC, the little Served Up with Love Hot Mitts, are unknown. The BG stamps are from a set of All Night Media stamps I picked up about 18 or 19 years ago, and never used! Called Stamp Attack, Coffee Break. lol Glad I remembered I had them.

To make steam from the cup, ( colored with Prismacolor Pencils), I smeared ColorBox Snowy White, I think it was. It did not show up enough on the light cs, so I added my favorite Stickles, Star Dust. Also used it on the cup., and around the little sticker with mitts. On the green I used a dark green stickles. The saying I used some of the Studio G Sparkle Writer, but it does not show up.

Never give up on stamps you have not used! 20 years from now you may find just the right card for them! haha

I had fun creating this card. The stamps are Hero Arts, the CS is from my stash. The white embossed CS is from Georgia Pacific, Wal*Mart. The striped paper is from Kim Hughes Mocha Chica pack, Cornish Heritage FArms. The birds were stamped on the paper, then onto decorative paper, cut out and adhered over the original image.

I cut a little strip of the same CS that the male is dressed in, and cut into it very close. Then bent the cut portion forward to make grass.

The sun is out and it is a wonderful day up here in No. California. I hope you are having a good day where you are!

Misquoted

I am not sure it I am done with this. Let me know if you have any suggestions that I might consider, or should I let it alone? I thought another rhinestone, a small flower? At times it is hard to know whether to stop and grin, or keep going.

The saying is from TAC, and the face is from Studio 490, Wendy Vecchi. The cS, BG paper, crown and the mulberry paper are all from my stash. I had to tear the bottom off her face, as her mouth turned out really bad. I smeared ink on the layers and colored her eye with blue Prismacolor pencil.

I cannot seem to settle into any particular style at the moment. Wait until I get my order of Steampunk stamps! lol That should keep me in mischief for awhile! lol

Anniversary Card

I decided I had better get my daughter & SIL's card made, as we are expecting another baby just before thier big date! The CS is Georgia Pacific from Wal*Mart. I ran one layer thru the cuddlebug using the Polka Dot folder. I punched embossed CS using the MArtha Stewart butterfly, and put a tiny clear rhinestone from Darice on thier backs. They are mounted using small pop dots cut in half. On the wings I used my favorite Stickles, the Star Dust. THe bottom corners were rounded with a punch I have had forever, and has no name on it. I decided to go C&S for this.

My original idea was from Roxie's blog Paper Scaper, white on white which I had not done in awhile, but veered away from the original layout.

This did not photograph well, but did turn out pretty.

The image is from a friend, for my birthday. It is Cornish Heritage Daisy Jar, and I just love it. First time I have had a chance to use it.

I stamped using Memento Tuxedo black ink, colored with Prismacolor Pencils, added 3 colors of stickles, and they don't show! Ouch! They are so neat. I used Studio 18 Rhinestones, also from my friend. I used apricot colored ink around the edges, just to add a little finishing touch.

I stamped the flowers again, colored and cut only the 2 on the left, used pop dots for a raised effect. All CS and layers are from my sizable stash! lol

Birthday Card

This card is for one of my "kids", my 50 something year old step son. He knows I stamp only what the "LITTLE VOICES TELL ME" so will not be surprised at this! lol

The image, saying, and bingo numbers on the upper left side are from the Tim Holtz Collection, Life's Possibilities. This was a Christmas gift from a sweet friend. She saw me admire it, and put it back, and decided it had my name on it! How sweet is that?

The sprocket gears at the bottom are from Tim Holtz idea-ology, the money that is blurred above them are from Jollee's. The SOAR ticket is T!m Holtz, as is the image stamped and mostly covered by the bird. The paper they are sitting on is from T!m Holtz Lost and Found paper.

The bird and her branch are a SU punch, and there is a story there. I decided to use up my unusual scraps. lol She is black with sparkly dots and dashes on her! lol I have some most unusual birds that will no doubt show up here one of these days. I sure did get rid of lots of scraps!!

I stamped and distressed with T!m Holtz distressed ink, mostly the Rusty Hinge and Fired BRick. I did my usual rumpling of the ticket before I took the distresser and sander to it. What fun that was! lol

Birthday card

This is a belated card to my girlfriend that moved to Sacramento a few months ago. The saying does not show up as well as it could. It says "Honey, you are no spring chicken". I can get away with that, because I am older! lol

The stamp is The Angel Company, the DP and the brads arrived yesterday from a stamping friend. The DP is Cosmo Cricket, from the Nutmeg pad, and the little button brads are from Making Memories. At her little feet are some stickers from my friend, and I do not have the company name for them. I thought that would help to ground her a bit.

Colored with Prismacolor Pencils, and the edges were distressed with A Heidi Swapp distresser, then I aged the DP with Distressed Ink, Rusty Hinge. The flowers are from my stash. Around the chicken, I used a variety to inks rubbed on, to make it less stark.

This card is for a very sweet lady I met online, in a group other than stamping. When she found out I was an avid stamper, she sent me this frog, and some other High Hopes stamps. I just love everyone of them, and will use them a lot.

The frog is High Hopes, Ribbit is We R Memory Keepers, the DP is from K & Co, The glitter is Stickles, & everything else is from my stash.

The Ribbit was colored with SU Old Olive, and the frog was done with Prismacolor Pencils.

The "girls" are from The Angel Company, as the sayings are. An online friend in AZ just had back surgery, so wanted to send something bright and cheerful.

I just got this set last week, & think I will enjoy using it for my older great granddaughters. One, Sami, is in college in the Bay Area, and I know will think its cute.

Thinking of you card

This card was made for a dear friend. I used BAsic Grey papers, the rest is unknown.
This card is for my granddaughter Kim, who is carrying great grandbaby #8, I mainly used Chipboard. The paper at the bottom was pleated, my new favorite thing to do! It and the felt on top are from my stash.
This actually was a very pretty card, but does not show up as such. It is a Thank YOu card for a bog hop I won. The image is from Shady Tree Studio, 1 of a set of 7. It is colored with Prismacolor Pencils, and stamped as you see on a kraft CS, which I love to use to color on. The Turquoise and Brown are Bazzil and very yummy paper.
I was not able to fine tune this as I would have liked, but did what I could with it. The flamingo and saying are from The Angel Company, and I love them. I colored with Prismacolor Pencils, and glittered her up a bit with Stickles. Mainly shows on the beads and the straps on the shoes.

This is also a Thank You card for a Blog hop win. Lisa was sweet enough to throw in not only ribbons with a Valentine stamp set, but lots of other goodies like Flower Soft! I am so thrilled with all the great things.

Baby on the bus!

This guy is in serious trouble. He just realized he left the baby on the bus.

This is one of those goofy cards we do now and then. A gal on a stamping group sent me a bag of "stuff" to use on cards. So I pulled out a Tim Holtz stamp, and some of the cogs die cut from an old book. I found the ribbon tape measure I had bought this summer from "Studios Blackbird" & used them. I used the rather pinkish umbrella and the thought bubble, and wrote in "OMG! I left the baby on the bus" then I tore up an ugly, very ugly pc of jewelry she sent, and used part of it for raindrops.

I admit it is not pretty, but it was fun. The CS & mulberry paper are from my stash. The donor of the bag of treasures is getting this card! lol

Be kind with your messages to me, as I bruise easily! lol

Playtime!

I decided to make more Christmas cards this morning and got sidetracked. This happens often! lol I ended up playing with some of T!m Holtz grungeboard. Tried coloring it with a little Fired Brick Distress Ink, smeared that around a bit, then smeared some of the Adriondack Willow and Aqua Dabbers on it. It may not be dry YET, but I did hit it with cotton, drug some of the dabbers off & used the heat gun.

I used a Pc of the 36 guage copper I had left from another project. It had been run thru the Cuttlebug with a neat folder, then held in the burner of my kitchen range until it started turning colors I liked. The edges hammered so they will be smooth.

I decided I needed a good sized flower , so from my stash of precut dictionary and paperback books flowers, put something together. I edged front & back with Distressed ink Vintage Photo, sprayed it with water and scrunched it up. The mister I was looking for is on my desk, never to be seen again, so used a tiny bit of one with blue tint.

The little pc of DP at the bottom is a small section torn from the Lost & FOund paper from T!m Hotlz. The brad in the flower is from my stash, and is the letter g.

Now, how was that for getting a start on my Christmas cards? ha ha I hate to rush into things!

Baby shower & Spud's new coat

This is Sue, my oldest daughter, taken in her kitchen at the shower for Kim. She is going to be a grandma AGAIN!!!!!! Since I am her mother, I think she is too young to have so many grandkids! lol This is Kim, on the left. She is carrying my great grandbaby # 8. The gal next to her is my daughter Patty.
Isn't this cake just precious? Since Kim has developed diabetes with this pregnancy, she was unable to eat it or any of the candy that graced every table!
I don't know how to get rid of Spuds "Redeye" problem. The one that shows red, is his blue eye. He is sporting his new coat that I bought him a few days ago. Note the flannel sheets on the couch so he will be warm sleeping there. I have no idea how he ever got so spoiled! He really loves the hoodie! No other animal has ever been allowed on my furniture!

Happy Penguins

I am undecided about these little guys, may have to add a bow at the top or center left side. The CS is from my stash, the penguins are SU stamped on glossy white CS with Color Box black, and the EP is Ranger black, Super Fine Detail. They were colored with BIC Mark-It pens, as I cannot afford the Copics. They really work well on the glossy paper.

The Snowflakes are from T!m Holtz Alterations, and I just love how nicely it embossed with my Cuttlebug. The snow under the penguins feet is my version of white Flowersoft. I rubbed 2 styrofoam balls together in a zip lock bag, and have lots of snow! lol

This is more of a closeup than the picture below, and does show the pink ribbon. The thing sticking up at the top with the purple must be connected to the platter that is holding the "cake" together. Anyway, someway or another it is sitting on a cake plate and being held together with "something"! I know it is not craft glue, as these are diapers to be worn! lol

Closeup Headdress

I have no idea how I ended up with 2 of these, as I only intended to post the closeup beneath! lol I hope I am better making cards than I am with a computer!

This closeup shows the stickles on the headdress and fan. The picture below gives the details. I hope you enjoy Jo's art work. She is amazing!

Lovely Geisha

This lovely Geisha was designed by Jo Prichard in Liverpool, England. She sent a couple of images stamped off for me.

I had a great time with the Geisha. I colored her with Prismacolor pencils, and blended with a blending stump & baby oil. You cannot tell by the picture, but the gold on each side of her headdress is covered with gold Stickles. The band in her hair is covered with Star Dust Stickles.

It did not turn out at all like I had planned! I was reaching for Poppy Red, & grabbed Process REd, which has more of an pinkish tone, so had to change from the bright red Oragami paper I had out to soft pastels. The papers and flower are from my stash.

I wish Jo well with her stamps. She is a wonderful artist and her images will be available thru Stampattack.

I Always Get My Man!!

This 6 X 5 card was fun to make. The cowgirl with gun & saying are from Oxford Impressions, Cowgirl Blues plate. The CS is from TAC, the ink is Adriondack Denim. The copper is 36 gauge copper from Homestead Metal Craft. I used the EK Sucess corner chomper on the top image. The basket weave is from my stash, as are the 2 small black brads.

I love working with this copper! I cut it to size & ran it thru the cuttlebug script folder, then using my propane kitchen range, I held the copper with plyers over & into the flame until it started turning the colors I wanted. I had hoped to get more blue in it, but it was starting to turn silver, so I stopped.

I realized the copper was going to be too large to combine with the images I wanted to use on the from page, so cut it about in half, did a few little swirly things, and then took my hammer to the edges. I used a heavy duty 2 sided tape with a red coating you peel off to adhere the copper to CS.

If it were perfect you would think I had not done the work! lol I actually grabbed the wrong stamped images & did not notice until I was done! The saying on this one is crooked, so I restamped it & got it straight! lol I think it must be on my desk!!!!

The saying and the owl are from Marks. the 3 DP's are from DCWV, the Amber Autum collection. the ribbon is from K*1 Memories. The CS my stash, the pleating done using my Scor-Pal, the Rhinestones from Basic Grey, the images were layered using my Nesties. Ink is from SU.

Pleated Happy Birthday

I have been wanting to learn to pleat some DP for cards, so dug out my new Scor-Pal and gave it a try. It was a learning experience! lol I think it will be easier next time.

My CS & ink are SU, the saying from my stash, the flowers and rhinestones were a gift from a stamping pal, and are from Studio 18. Love them! The DP is Essentials Paperz, Salsa Geometric, and I just love this pattern! I will be sad when I use it all up!

Crazy Amigo Challenge

I have been in a slump, and thought it might help me to do a challenge. I found the Crazy Amigo girls wanted "anything" as long as it was using a boy. I decided to dig out one of my fun, really old stamps and play with that.

The stamp is unknown (one of the ones I unmounted) the 2 dP are from Imaginisce, the Apple Cider pad. The CS & white waffled paper are from my stash, as is the raffia that I knotted and put in 2 corners. I saw the technique in a recent stamp magazine, and decided to try it.

Overall I am happy with the card, as I at least got if finished! lol Anyway the image was colored with Prismacolor Pencils, and I did some fussy cutting so he would look ok on the off white waffled paper. I think before I put this in the mail, I may use some clear Stickles on his glasses.

This is a picture of my son Ron and his sweet wife Melissa. I think this was taken a couple of weeks ago at Disneyworld in Florida.

This is 4 year old Abby, having such a great time at Disneyworld. She tore a page a day off the calendar, asking "Is this the day I see Mickey?" Abby is my youngest grandchild and lives in Ohio. It is hard to get out to visit her often, and she has not been to California yet.

This is one of my favorite pictures. Abby does enjoy the spotlight, and looks like she is having a great time dancing with Pluto!

Poor Bossy!

I am in a rather goofy mood today, and I have been wanting to use this cow stamp for ages, so decided this was the day! ha ha It took awhile to decide what I wanted to say about the poor cow, but here it is!

The DP is SU. The cow is from Kenneth Herrod, the little boys are "belly laughs" from Stampendous. THe thought bubble unknown. I colored all with Prismacolor pencils. This was fun, and I may try to get a better shot of it later, and pull this one off.

Tree Hugger

This darling owl is a SU punch. The DP is DCWV the Amber Autumn collection. the tag is stamped with "Wanna hug a tree with me" on one side, and the other is I Heart tree's both are clear stamps, I think from Studio G, but not sure. The leaf is from the little owl set in the card below this one.

I had fun making this card, and hope you enjoy it. I got the paper (don't mention it to my kids! Silly kids think I have enough paper!) last week, and just love the Fall Collection!

Oh my! On another Bird kick!

"Owl" try to not stay on this bird kick all weekend! ha ha I have several cards I need to finish before I start on a project that I am really looking forward to.

These little owls are from Recollections, and are as cute as they can be. The Whats the word saying is from Inkadinkado (Amy Smith) the It's owl good is from Studio G i-clear.The little metal accent in the top left corner is from Heidi Grace. The green CS is Old Olive by SU, the oj color from my stash of scraps. See, I DO use them! I

As you can see, I tried out my new Scor-pal again, and am just loving it! I am old, so it does not take a lot to keep me entertained!

Using Scor-Pal

This is a case of an old lady learning a few new tricks! I just got my scor-pal a couple of weeks ago, and saw the grids in a Paper Crafts magazine, and decided to try it. This was so easy to do, & I like the effect.

I will try to do a nicer card next time, I am just so pleased to have the grid turn out so good.

A new birthday card

My friend Barbie came over recently and spent the day. She brought her cuttlebug folders, and I had a great time using them. I have a few, but not many, so embossed a large pile.

The CS is from my stash. The flower was done using several flower dies, and an old paperback book, as well as a paperback dictionary I found at the $ store.

I Used Distressed Ink, Vintage Photo on both side of the edges of the leaves, then piled them up and sprayed them with a Perfect Pearl mixture I had made up, to get a little glimmer. While they were damp, I :scrunched" them up a couple of times, then allowed them to dry.

After they were dry, I poked a hole in what I hoped was the middle, and used a large red brad from my stash. This was fun, and I like the look.

Birthday card

I love this little Hedgehog. I think he is from a SU set. This card is for the secret sister that sent me the lovely package of goodies. The 2 BG papers were part of her package, and are from the Apple Cider pad. The REd Rhinestones are from the Mary Englebreit collection, and sent by another stamping friend.

The rough texture green paper he is layered on is from my stash, and the punch used was Martha Stewart.

I colored the Hedgehog with prismacolor pencils and what blending I did was with thier clear blending pencil.

Autumn Leaves

Today I dug into some things a Secret Sister in one of my stamp groups sent me. The card is from The Paper Company, the gold paper on the side is from my stash of Marco's, the Leaves and Rhinestones are Vellum Leaves from Jolee's boutique. The Autumn stamp was also sent by my SS and is a clear stamp from Indadinkako the Harvest Assortment.

I started out planning to make a birthday card for her, and got sidetracked! I will do that next. I have been anxious to play with these leaves, so just had to do it.

Bird with ribbon wings

This is a bridal shower card I made this morning. I do not have any of the right stamps, so decided to use the SU bird punch and dress her up a bit with ribbon wings.

The BG is music embossed by Cuttlebug. On the far left is a tiny strip of pink & green rhinestores that really do not show up either. My paper for the card, bird & stamp; branch is Essentials paperz, Salsa Geometric. I really love it.
